Whether you’re after a twinkling city skyline or a sweeping vista of the Gulf, Galveston Island offers a host watering holes offer plenty of scenery to sip by.
Number 13, 7809 Broadway, 409-572-2650. Whether in the bar or on the terrace, you’ll enjoy both expansive views of the Pelican Rest Marina and smart craft cocktails, or perhaps a bottle from Number 13’s vast wine list.
The Rooftop Bar at The Tremont House, 2300 Ship’s Mechanic Row, 409-763-0300. It doesn’t get more romantic than this aerie, four stories above historic downtown Galveston, with its tremendous view of the nightlife and the harbor beyond.
Float Pool & Patio Bar, 2828 Seawall Blvd., 409-765-7946. This two-story bar on the Seawall offers two equally compelling views: the ocean and the festivities on display in the pool and swim-up bar below.
RumShack, 3204 Seawall Blvd., 409-621-5327. One of four themed bars surrounding beachfront restaurant The Spot, this particular palapa bar is known island-wide for its tropical, rum-based creations.
Longboard Pool Bar, 1702 Seawall Blvd., 409-762-4141. This bar made a splash with its set-up: Well-dressed patrons can’t order drinks until they swim across a pool. Watch the fun or take the plunge yourself.
